The Dpartment of Atomic Energy (DAE) supports extramural research and development activities in nuclear and allied sciences, engineering and technology through its nodal funding agency - the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS). Ministry provides financial assistance to Government & Academic Bodies, Industry Associations, NGOS, Cooperatives etc. for organising Seminars and workshops to focus attention on the development of Food Processing Industries. Ministry also sponsors seminars/workshops and commissions studies/surveys and provides funds for preparing feasibility reports. Under the Scheme, Financial assistance is provided to the agencies up to 50% of the cost subject to a maximum of Rs. 3 lakh for organizing seminars/ workshops and conducting studies/surveys etc. When the Ministry sponsors/co-sponsors or commissions such events, the above financial ceilings are not applicable.
DST sponsored assistance to Professional Bodies & Seminars/Symposia- The Department extends partial support on a selective basis, for organizing seminar / symposia/ training programmes / workshops / conferences at national as well as international level. The support is provided to Research Institutes/ Universities/Medical and Engineering Colleges and other Academic Institutes/ Professional Bodies who organize such events for the scientific community to keep them abreast of the latest developments in their specific areas. The support is generally given for encouraging participation of young scientists and research workers in such events and publication of proceedings / abstracts for wider dissemination.
