Dr. Gurdial Singh, Vice Chancellor, LUVAS, Haryana did his graduation (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and post graduation (M.V.Sc Veterinary Anatomy) in 1980 and 1983, respectively from erstwhile Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. He joined the academic profession in 1983 as an Assistant Professor in COVS. Later on, he took overseas assignment as Lecturer in the University of Maidugiri, Nigeria from 1986 to 1988. Since then, he has been engaged in teaching and research activities at graduation and higher level in the Department of Anatomy, COVS, Hisar. Also , he obtained his doctoral degree from CCSHAU, Hisar in 1993. He guided several M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. students and published many research articles and other substantial scientific literature in the field of Gross, Histology and Electron Microscopy. He has passion for development of multimedia modules for graduate and post graduate teaching. He was FAO Fellow at Michigan State University, USA. He is also the Fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences and Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists
Dr. Gurdial volunteered to shoulder additional responsibilities as and when needed by the University, such as Coordinator of Examinations etc. After the establishment of LUVAS, he engaged into core administration of University as Associate Dean, COVS in December 2011 and later on as Dean in November 2013. He has taken keen interest in digitalization of teaching and administration activities of LUVAS through development of modern university website and implementation of elaborate E Governance system.
